I hope I will NOT have to replace the top to my stove again. But, if I did I would buy it again. It arrived faster than estimated and without any problems. It fits and all is working beautifully.

Looks like new!
Was exactly what I ordered and arrived two weeks early. Found a you tube video that helped with installation making it easy. Would recommend labeling all wiring before disassembling. Makes it much easier to put back together.

Challenging but doable
The part that arrived was perfect after the initial one arrived damaged worse than the one I was replacing! I watched a video on youtube to guide the replacement and it was straightforward with one exception. The video does not show the requirement to disconnect the fan control unit which is difficult. I actually broke it off from the board. Watch out for that and you should be good to go. The rest is just patience with a lot of screws and cable disconnects which are intuitive to put back together. Good luck.

Not easy, but do-able
This part was an exact replacement for a shattered range top (wife dropped something on the edge, go figure...). Watched a YouTube video on how to repair and Sears site gave repair 4 out of 5 wrenches for repair difficulty. If you are not electrical repair savvy, then do not attempt. I've repaired all kinds of things over the last 30 years and this one took me about 3 hours start to finish. I took plenty of pics along the way and marked all wire connections to ensure everything went back together correctly. Once completed, it looks and functions just like new again.

Tricky to install
Although the installation is straightforward and does not require any special skills there are some tricky bits. I would suggest view the example videos on YouTube even though they for a cooker with fewer connections. 1. Removing the connector for the fan control from the control board. It is very difficult to remove this connector without detaching the socket from the board. The first time I replaced the top (yes it has cracked twice) the socket came away from the board. Luckily when I reassembled was able to reached it by pushing the socket back in the locating holes. Second time not so lucky as I was not able to get the pins to connect. 2. The Kenmore 790.46703605 has a lot of connections and it is easy to miss one of the smaller ones when you reassemble.
